A terrific recital coming up and more to follow...

Our next event will be a piano recital by Philip Garson, featuring Schumann's great Kreisleriana among other works.  This is on Saturday 9th February at 7.30 pm and of course will be played on the 1901 Bechstein grand piano at Christ Church.

Philip Garson MA ATCL is a piano teacher and performer based in Wellington, Somerset.  The romantic period is his particular specialism, with Beethoven and Chopin being sources of lifelong inspiration.  Both feature in this concert, for which the expected programme is:

Robert Schumann: Kreisleriana Op 16
Beethoven: Sonata in F sharp Op 78
Albeniz: Three pieces from Iberia
Chopin: Two nocturnes Op 27 Nos 1 and 2
Ballade No 4 in F minor Op 52
Tickets are £7, contact us now to book.  FREE to piano students accompanied by an adult.

Looking ahead, we also hope to have the following events:
  • Borlase Gospel Choir: hopefully in March, date tbc
  • A jazz piano concert, following the success of our Lillian Boutte gig
  • Robin Ward, harpist.  This one is firmly booked for 12th May, more details will be posted soon.
